What is the Reformer? Next to working out on the mat, the reformer is the most popular piece of pilates equipment. The reformer incorporates the basic principles of mat into an extraordinary range of lengthening and strengthening excercises. Where mat work provides resistance training while using your own body weight and gravity, the reformer uses springs, ropes and pulleys for exercises performed sitting, kneeling, lying down or standing. Pilates students find the reformer to be a perfect compliment to their mat work.

Pilates requires time and patience to master. Your level of commitment to your pilates training will determine what you receive back from it.
Teaching pilates requires much preparation and hard work.
Consider your time carefully before committing to a regular session.

Please take the time to familiarize yourself with our cancellation policy.

In the event that classes need to be cancelled due to inclement weather or other reasons, I will contact you first via email and then will call the phones numbers you have provided me with. Please be sure that you have given me the best possible place to reach you in the event that class has to be cancelled. Whenever possible, class cancellations will also be posted on the website.

Cancellation policy for private sessions:

Private sessions require at least 24 hours notice of cancellation or rescheduling or the session will be forfeited. This policy is very strict and allows for the smooth running of sessions for students and instructor alike. Please consider your schedule very carefully before scheduling sessions.

When possible, please inform the instructor if you will need to miss a group mat class

A class “as a whole” may request to make up one class within the session, at a time that is mutually agreeable to all of the class participants and the instructor.

Please arrive on time to class. Missed time cannot overlap into the next class. We try very hard to keep things running smoothly and on time for your convenience and our other students.

Please bring your own exercise mat when possible. When using the studio’s mats and other equipment, please disinfect the equipment with the tea-tree oil mixture and paper towels provided. Reformers need carriages wiped down including the tracks. Ask the teacher if you don’t know how to do this.

Attire: Men and women should wear full or Capri length workout pants. Shorts are not recommended. Form fitting tops are ideal so teacher can visualize spinal placement although t-shirts may be worn.

Remove shoes and socks for safety reasons.

Tell your teacher of any new injuries or issues that may affect your practice.

Please refrain from using all electronic devices during class. If absolutely necessary a phone can be left on vibrate.

Please refrain from wearing fragrances as some students are allergic to strong odors.

Egos should be left outside the door.

Come in with an open mind and take time afterwards to think about what you learned and mastered in class. Most of all enjoy the time you take to practice Pilates and recognize the benefits it provides.
